Pipe Extrusion Line Selection

The pipe name alone does not define an extrusion line. Begin with the material and the pipe structure, then match the process stages to the finished product.

Material and product structure

Identify the polymer, formulation, number of layers, reinforcement and whether the pipe is smooth, corrugated, wound or flexible. Provide the outside diameter range, wall thickness and intended use.

Downstream equipment

Calibration, cooling, haul-off, cutting, coiling, printing and stacking depend on the product. A rigid pipe line and a flexible hose line may use different downstream arrangements even when the extruder appears similar.

Information for a proposal

  • Pipe drawing and size range
  • Material and application
  • Target output and line speed
  • Power supply and factory space
